Set Construction & Scenic Design
In summer 2024, a Set/Scenic Design and Construction course at the Georgia Film Academy helped me uncover what I truly love about film: building small worlds that feel endlessly vast. That’s the magic I hope to keep creating.
During our semester, we recreated Peter Parker's bedroom from Spider-Man: Homecoming; however, we decided to add in an extra challenge by turning it into a "stunt set", where the bedroom was actually upside down!
A select few of us received the opportunity to present our set at the GFA Gala; at this event, we presented our creation, spoke about our growth and the challenges we faced, and met notable people in the industry who work in production (which was amazing to have this networking experience)!
Pre-Production Design Skills
During my summer semester at the GFA, we also learned what the first steps are to creating sets. I gained new skills in drafting plans for set construction, creating mood boards, designing concept art, building small scale sets, and more!
(Note: these lessons did not have to be related to our Spider-Man set.)
SFX Makeup
I’ve always been captivated by the transformative power of makeup. While I’m still growing in this area, I’m eager to gain more experience with prosthetics and advanced techniques to further expand my skills.
Outside of scare acting at Netherworld, I enjoy experimenting with “monster” looks purely for fun, allowing me to explore the creative side of character design.
People often ask about my techniques or whether I follow tutorials, but honestly? I just scroll through Pinterest, pick a look I love, and trust the process. One of my friends even asked me to be the makeup artist for her short film, where she wanted Arcane-inspired makeup. It was a challenge—but a fun one—and I’m proud of how it turned out!
